Thoughts mile by mile on Keswick Mountain Festival 25km/16mile trail race (starring Patreons!)

Last month I had a fab time running the Keswick Mountain Festival 25k/16mile trail race with awesome Patreons Guy Greatorex, Rob Jordan, Helen Blakemore, Carl Southgate, Darren Joynes and Jon Earp.

They were all absolutely lovely folks, supportive of each other and sticking together for the entire course through tumbles, a knee injury, hills, mud and forest. We had a right laugh filming this, giving our updates every mile on this beautiful course around Derwent Water in the Lake District.

There were a couple of tumbles along the way which everyone dealt with with great kindness, there was great flapjack (recipe at the end of this film!) and we all rallied round to cross the finish line together.

At the finish we celebrated this channel reaching over 10,000 subscribers, first with some pickle juice from Guy (I first heard about this at Pikes Peak, see this film here at 18:29 mins in I and wasn’t sure if the Americans were having me on but turns out it’s true!) Watch til the end to see our reactions to pickle juice! Then we washed that down with some bubbles to finish off a top day.

The next exclusive Patreon meet up is on Sat 10 Aug near to Stamford where I am based – I want to show off our stunning local countryside trails on a steady-paced 10miler, finishing in a pub for a rewarding pint (it’s my round!). To join us visit
