It was truly amazing to cover the UTMB this year and film as many fellow Brits as I could, from 5th lady Beth Pascall and 4th and 5th men Tom Owens and Andy Symonds, to the awe-inspiring final finishers Paul McLaughlin and Hannah Leith – both from the south-east with no local mountains to train on!
There was broken pole trauma, blisters, sheer exhaustion, highs, lows, DNFs and successes, with tears and hugs over the finish line.
Thanks to Petzl for supporting this tour of the UTMB by mini-bus, bike and hike using their new Swift RL. Keep watching for a review coming soon. www.petzl.com/GB/en
Thanks to Chamonix Valley Transfers for supporting me with a return transfer from Geneva to Chamonix, highly recommended. www.chamonix-valley-transfers.co.uk
