Team Wild Ginger Running had a fantastic time at Run Fest Run last May on the 5k night time trail run sponsored by Light Up U. Thanks to all the runners who shared their night running tips! (scroll down for film)
First we went to the Light Up U stand to get lit up like human Christmas trees, with multi-coloured flashing arm bands, heel bands, waist packs, head torches and these unique, air-filled balloons like jellyfish on sticks!
Instructed by Chris Evans, we made our way down to the front of the stage with all the other hundreds of night runners, and set off at regular intervals according to our pace. I even bumped into Olympic runners Paula Radcliffe and Jo Pavey and their kids on the start line!
They flew off, while Team Wild Ginger Running paced the other night runners round the 5k course on the tracks and trails of Bowood House, through forest, led by glowsticks and flashing umbrellas.
On the way round I chatted to some of the runners, some were doing their first ever night run, others were old hats. Both gave some great tips for your first night run. Hope you enjoy this film, and sign up for a night run soon!
