Moire O’Sullivan is a mountain runner, adventure racer, an author and a mum based in Northern Ireland. Her company, Happy Out Adventures, brings people on trails and mountain slopes, teaching them to travel in the outdoors happily and safely. Moire was the first person to complete the Wicklow Round back in 2009, an endurance run spanning over a hundred kilometres over twenty-six of Ireland’s remotest mountain peaks, a feat that was captured in her first book, ‘Mud, Sweat and Tears.’

In between having her children, Moire won Ireland’s National Adventure Racing Series in 2014, 2016 and 2017. She subsequently wrote the memoir, ‘Bump, Bike and Baby’ about juggling racing with pregnancy and child-rearing.

She is a two-time winner of the Irish Mountain Running Championship in 2007 and 2008, as well as three-winner of the Mourne Mountain Marathon elite mixed class.

In January 2020, she became the first woman to complete a winter Denis Rankin Round in memory of her late husband Pete, a challenge to summit all the peaks in the Mourne Mountains. This run was captured in her latest book, A Quarter Glass of Milk.
